5.0 out of 5 stars - A book intended for everyone

This book, Revelation: Mature Look by Maurice Williams really had my interest. This is a historical biblical read that was both entertaining and educational and is a rewritten version of his earlier interpretation of Revelation. I can definitely appreciate the scholarly research and deep thought that went into the compilation of the various points of references found in Revelation. The author does a great job of keeping a neutral standpoint, but does state that readers may have disagreements - which were true for me. There was an abundance of historical evidence produced. However, the Bible is certainly a book that is up for interpretation.

He discusses some of the views many different groups including of the Protestants, Seven Day Adventists, Jehovah Witnesses, Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, Church of Scientology, Church of Lucifer as well as other streams of religious thoughts. Lucifer was a senior angel who was cast out of Heaven because he and God had a major difference of opinion and he took about one-third of the angels with him. The author describes that Lucifer is the chief devil because of his more highly gifted angelic nature and because he is the source of rebellion against God. He says that humans suffer because evil is operating in their lives and they could defeat evil if they could counteract all influence of Lucifer, but they cannot. I agree with the author and I too think God originally created Lucifer to be the morning light, to illumine the minds of lesser created angles and humans. Jesus is the new Morning Star replacing Lucifer because Jesus accepted the Father's will for him. Maurice also takes time to comment on what he considers some of the failings of modern society, and where we should go from here.

All in all, this book captivated my attention, was filled with lots of scripture references and footnotes, and it truly is a book intended for everyone, no matter your religion.
