4.0 out of 5 stars - Enjoyed his writing style

“Revelation: Mature Look” by Maurice A. Williams is a rewrite of his original book written in 1988. The first note to be made is that this books content is very much rooted in a non-secular Christian belief system. It’s an interpretation of the Book of Revelation and what the author believes the aforementioned biblical text can represent to its followers. While my personal beliefs may not be congruent with the author’s it’s obvious anyone who does subscribe to this faith at a level similar to the author’s will have much to appreciate.
That being said readers of the same faith but with differing conclusions or even those who aren’t as persuaded by Christian teachings or religious inclinations in general will still find the content intriguing, if nothing else for the in-depth historical analysis. It’s nothing short of impressive how he compares scripture with biblical history to inform his opinions. There are numerous instances where he refers to everything from effective use of military tactics to political upheavals identified to the specific year and season in order to explain his interpretation of god’s will. The bible often relies on metaphor and allegory as literary devices; as a result deriving meaning can be a less than clear process.
The author provides a clear vision of the meaning he’s found in Revelation and does it with an unmistakable passion demonstrated by a tenacious attention to detail. Whether his conclusions are correct or not, I can’t say, but it’s always enjoyable to entertain the notions of someone who takes the time to carefully develop them.
