Revelation: Mature Look by Maurice A. Williams is a book about the relevancy of the book of Revelation. Mr. Williams is 84 years old and the book is his second book about the book of Revelation. He presents a preterist (historical) interpretation and futurist (prophetical) interpretation of Revelation. He uses scriptural revelations and personal revelations to explain his views. He clearly articulates his views in the following words,” Whatever you think is true really is true for you, but your truth might differ from what someone else might think is true.”
I admire how the author prepares the reader in advance for reading material where there may be areas of disagreement. He goes on to say, “it's easy from there to suppose that what Christians think God has revealed to them is not necessarily what God would reveal to adherents of other religions…. We should all pay attention to what God has revealed….. Of all the religions in the world, only three place their faith in the revelation God made to Moses: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam”. The range of his research is quite impressive. He discusses some of the views of the Protestants, Seven Day Adventists, Jehovah Witnesses, Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, Church of Scientology, Church of Lucifer as well as other streams of religious thoughts.
The author’s extraordinary research takes the reader on a historical journey of mankind’s evolution, starting with struggle in Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, Biblical times all the way to present times. Along the way, he shares a plethora of information with the reader that is not widely disseminated. Here are two examples: He writes about a blend of Christianity and Islam that I have never heard of before. It is called Chrislam. Additionally, he uncovers information about people and events in Fatima Portugal that have impacted world affairs and influenced his choice to become a lay member of the Marian Movement of Priests.
I am amazed at the clarity of his writings at 84 years old, especially dealing with War between God and Lucifer and its effect on the human struggle of good and evil). Regardless of your religious preference, this book is a good addition to your reading library.
